diner dash iphone

The popular task management game Diner Dash from PlayFirst was recently released for the iPhone. It’s available from the App Store for $9.99. The game puts you in the role of restaurant owner Flo and your mission is to build a chain of successful restaurants. In the game you have to serve your customers quickly, manage tables, clean up, collect tips and get new customers before the clock runs out. The more money you make the more you can invest in your restaurant in hopes to make more money and open new food joints. Diner Dash for the iPhone has 50 levels, six kinds of customers and two modes of play and is really fun. Who needs to work at Denny’s when you can just play a little bit of Diner Dash and do all the hard work without having to actually change your name to Flo? Diner Dash is available for the iPhone and iPod touch with iPhone software 2.0.

TouchArcade has released images of a iPhone control pad from iControl. The iPhone attaches to the pad and appears to have the same number of buttons and layout to a classic SNES controller. From the prototype images we can see a directional pad, four face buttons, start and select and an LED light. This looks like it is a must have for all the iPhone games that are already out and for the ones that expected to be released soon. I can’t wait to try one of these out, no pricing or release date has been set yet.

Firemint of Australia has shown off their new racing game for the Apple iPhone. Real Racing takes advantage of the iPhones accelerometer and graphics capabilities and looks like it could be a really fun racing game. You can also play the game head-to-head with other racers via your cell carriers network or online via WiFi. One really cool feature is that you convert your recent lap to a YouTube video automatically and show it off to your friends. There are also plans for applications so you can show off your best lap on Facebook and other social networking sites, look out for Real Racing in the Apps Store sometime around Christmas.

iphone game

Sega said a while back that the new iPhone is as powerful as their Dreamcast system was and even EA has stated that the iPhone is as powerful as the DS. John Carmack, id Software co-founder, is saying the iPhone is as powerful as the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP combined! Those are some mighty strong words. Carmack is also claiming the iPhone is almost as strong as the Playstation 2 and Xbox 1 were. Why so much love from Carmack as he’s been known to not be a fan of Apple? He did say that he doesn’t think that Apple has a great grasp of gaming and how to enter the gaming market. Will Apple try and dominate the gaming industry as well? We’ll see, I’m sure Nintendo and Sony have already taken notice to this new threat.

There’s no doubt that the iPhone is a huge hit but there may be another market it may be able to tap into, gaming. Bioware is one company that see’s the huge potential in gaming with the iPhone, Bioware is known for such great games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect so you know they’ll come out with some great titles for the iPhone.

While nothing has been set in stone by Bioware, I’m really looking forward to what’s on the horizon when it comes to gaming on the iPhone.
