Last week, we reported that iTunes 8 will make its debut at Apple’s “Let’s Rock” event this Tuesday, September 9. Later in the week, we then reported that the rumor was deemed false by Ars Technica. Now Ars Technica believes that iTunes will indeed make its debut alongside the new iPod Nano. Ars Technica has also reported that there is a rumor that a iPhone 2.1 firmware will aso be debuted tomorrow. There are rumors regarding the new iPhone 2.1 firmware in which it was “specifically removed from developer seeds in order to to keep it secret from the world”. Developers have noted that Apple has ceased delivery of iPhone 2.1 firmware beta, which only means that the Gold Master firmware will be ready to make it debut to users. What should we expect from the new firmware? Well if Apple has to hide it from the public, there may be some new features and surprises that we should expect. Check back as we gain more information regardint these rumors.

iPhone 3D app?

This video shows a pretty cool new app for the iPhone which makes images look holographic. This cool 3D effect is said to be made by a series of real time adjustments to the image if the iPhone is moved or rotated. The good news, this app looks way cool…the bad, unfortunately it’s not a real app. It was just an illustration of what the iPhones software is capable of. Too bad because this looked like it would be a good seller on the App Store.

Apple is planning to manufacture about 40 to 45 million iPhones in the next 12 months all the way through August 2009. Sources also say that they’re currently producing 150,000 iPhones per day. This is due to Apples huge international campaign and their current launch in over 20 countries. That’s a lot of iPhones, hopefully with this step-up in production they can actually keep these darn things in stock.

The Palm OS handheld software development company, Stevens Creek Software, is now focused on developing new apps for the iPhone. One of their first apps will be the TripLog/1040 which is a mileage tracking tool that will help keep track of mileage to destinations and costs to help you keep track of tax-deductible mileage logs. It can memorize trips and can e-mail the log.

Another app in development is the Athlete’s Calculator. It calculates time, distance and pace or an athlete and can perform calculations to produce total times. It reads in both English and metric units and can do distance conversions.

The third app from Stevens Creek is the Handy Randy. This app is a random number generator that can select up to three numbers randomly. This is great for games, raffles or picking your lucky lotto numbers.

For all of you out there who like to speculate and like iPhone’s- we have found the perfect blog for you. appleiphone.blogspot is a blog which publishes the latest concepts images of the iPhone created by talented graphic designers. Run by Okan Vardarova of Turkey, the blog posts user submitted images with the artist credited. While many of the designs are unrealistic and occasionally gaudy, for the curious they are very interesting and amusing. Though most of us already have an idea of what the upcoming iPhone G3 will look like, you should definitely check out these creative images.

There has been a lot of commotion lately around Apple rumor sites as the annual Apple World Wide Developer Conference approaches. As with tradition, Apple Inc. always unveils their newest products for the salivating masses. Most of this noise has been dealing with the upcoming releases of the iPhone Firmware 2.0, the fabled iPhone G3, and even more recently- word of a new Dot Mac like service for iPhone users. The recent mention of the new service comes from various Apple users finding evidence in the coding of Apple’s recent software updates, which contain evidence of this service. Another indicator of this oncoming service comes from the recent purchase of the domain name www.mobileme.com by Apple’s registar Mark Monitor. For many “Macheads”, this is seen as an interesting addition to Apple’s already existing iPhone lineup. Not much is known now about what this “MobileMe” service will entail, but as the June 9th Apple WWDC approaches more details are slowly coming our way.

I gladly welcome any service that will help me better use my precious iPhone. The only thing I ask is that it doesn’t come with the same price tag as Dot Mac currently does.

Another photo claiming to depict the next generation iPhone has been traveling the web spectrum. This was submitted by someone calling there self “natbyte”. Now we cannot vouch for its authenticity. We blogged this to get your opinion. Is this real, or a real hoax. You decide. I can only speculate but my guess would say this is another custom accessory that is being passed off for a 3g. I do imagine this is pretty much what we will get in the next gen.
