iluv-i9500-12-17-08

If you are tired of those simple iPod dock devices such as iPod Dock Clock Radios and what not, then iLuv has something that might interest you. It is called the i9500 iPod/CD Sound System from iLuv. The iLuv sound system supports 4 CDs at a time as well as a dock for any Apple iPod. In addition, the sound system can support microSD flash memory cards as well as USB flash drives. It also comes with the usual FM/AM tuner and a alarm clock. The system looks great. Not really sure what size that subwoofer is, but it looks like it packs a mean punch. There is no official word to what the retail price would be, but it is expected to make its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show on January 9, 2009.

applenetbook

With so many new Apple news today, the one that caught our eyes were the Apple Netbook rumors. Ezra Gottheil of Technology Business Research said in an interview that Apple would most likely introduce two new Apple netbooks at MacWorld 2009. Gottheil believes this because of several different factors. According to him, because of the slow economy, the rise in sales for inexpensive netbooks, and Steve Job’s comments back in October, Apple has no choice but to release an inexpensive netbook. According to Gottheil, Read the rest of this entry »

Some great Apple prototypes

The great thing about Apple products is how attractive they are and their versatility. MacLife has just introduced four great Apple prototypes that will sure grab the attention of consumers. Although many of these prototypes are too far fetched, some of them may actually sell well on the market. The first to mention is the Mac desktop computer made from Legos. I am pretty sure we won’t see a Lego Mac, or LMac as they call it. Another prototype that MacLife introduced was a Macbook with three screens. A little outrageous, but cool nonetheless. The last two prototypes seem more reasonable and we could possible see these in the near future. The first is a Apple dock for the iPhone or the iPod Touch. With the dock, you could use two wireless gaming controllers to play games on your iPhone or iPod Touch. The last prototype is the iCom, which is just a mix between a music player, a digital picture frame, and a holophone. The iCom is something I would surely look into if they were to develop it.  All these prototypes sound great, but no official word on whether they would continue the development of these prototypes.

apple earbuds

Steve Jobs had a lot of announcements at their Let’s Rock event back in September, and one of the things he promised us was their slick new Apple Earbuds. He said they would be ready for consumers in October, well October came and went and it is now December. Apple finally announced the release of their new earbud ear phones. Each earphone features a woofer as well as a tweeter for better sound quality. They also feature a built-in remote and mic like the iPhone ear phones do but they are not compatible with the iPhone, which really sucks. They do come with interchangeable tips for small medium and elephant ears. At $79 this are bit pricey but hey it’s Apple and who are you to doubt them?

App Store

The App Store has been ballooning non-stop since its inception and this week it has just surpassed the 10,000 mark in number of available apps in the App Store. A look back on the history of the App Store will see a troubled past that is still struggling with controversy. The App submittance process was hit with a NDA a little while back; a move which caused enough uproar within the developer community to force apple to lift the agreement shortly afterwards although Apple is still known for its unpredictable and seemingly illogical app review process. The number of available apps in the app store might have surpassed 10,000, but there are numerous other third party apps available to jailbroken phones as well.

Belkin Switch-to-Mac

Probably the hardest thing about getting a new computer is transferring all your data from your old computer to your new computer. And it gets worse when you switch platforms, such as going from Windows XP or Vista to a Mac. Well Belkin has developed a new Switch-to-Mac cable that will make the process a more smooth one. The Belkin Switch-to-Mac cable is just a USB to USB dongle and it includes software to help the transition for just $50. The Migration Assistant will automatically transfer files such as videos, pictures, music, etc. So just like Barack Obama, when you switch platforms, Belkin makes the transition a smooth one.

You have a Zune?!?!…hahaha

I usually don’t watch much TV, but I found this clip over at Macenstein and thought I should share it with the world.

I happen to find this commercial hilarious only because it makes me think about how we all love Apple products, but Apple is still just a minority in the electronics industry, aside from the iPhone. Also, since sales of the iPod have been declining, it made this clip even more hilarious…at least for me. But when it comes to MP3 players, nothing beats an iPod!!!

macbook keyboard

A reader over on Engadget got a bit of a shock when he opened his brand new MacBook. It was missing a B! No worries, when do we ever really use the letter B anyways? His Keyboard also had the letter N pushed over a bit too far, looks like that lucky MacMook owner will just have to relearn how to type.
